Mlk Essay Contest 2015 Elementary

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — The winners of Paducah-McCracken Co. NAACP Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest have been announced.

Students from McCracken County, Paducah City, and St. Mary’s school districts were asked to write essays reflecting on the life and work of Dr. King and addressing the issues of today.

The winners for each grade group are below. You can also read the first place essays of the middle school and high school winners at the bottom of this article.

Sponsored by the YWCA of Wheeling and the Martin Luther King Jr. West Virginia Holiday Commission. Governor Cecil H. Underwood will recognize the essay contest winners at an awards luncheon on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Cultural Center in the State Capitol Complex.

Poster Contest Winners

Nu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Martin Luther King Jr. West Virginia Holiday Commission are pleased to announce the winners of the 2000 Poster Contest. These winners will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Cultural Center in the State Capitol Complex. Governor Cecil H. Underwood will present the winners with U.S. Savings Bonds and certificates of recognition.
